We have two distinct categories of trips: group tours and expeditions. While they are both founded on the same concept – epic group travel made affordable for backpackers – we wanted to make the raw, unfiltered adventure and physical fitness requirements of our ‘expeditions’ clear. Whether you’re hiking to Everest Base Camp, summiting the world’s tallest freestanding mountain in Tanzania, or venturing into polar bear territory in Greenland, these expeditions will push your limits, both physically and mentally. You’ll need to commit to a training plan to be able to enjoy these expeditions fully, and once you sign up we will be at your disposal to support and encourage you along the way! The trip was so well thought out and planned very well, not having to worry about transportation or entrance tickets was genuinely a phenomenal experience and it made the whole trip feel seamless. Along with affordability considering how much was packed in, from accommodations—which were very clean and had within them many other fun activities included for guests—, and some meals being included, the excursions selected were invaluable and I’m so happy to have been lucky to be lead on a group trip with Sandra and Maria, two great leaders who helped keep order and were very detailed in what the itinerary entailed, answering any questions and resolving any questions or concerns. Our Story

Launched on the 20th September, 2023, we have been honoured to take over 3,000 people on tours with us in our first 18 months!

Following a traumatic experience on a solo travel backpacking trip at the age of 21, our founder Louise Truman first looked to group travel as a solution for her personal safety, but felt that there lacked budget-friendly options that could deliver on ethical, sustainable and exceptional customer experiences. Louise ended up taking matters into her own hands, and in September 2023, she launched Plotpackers to create what she wished had existed for herself as a young woman travelling.

Put simply, we took off from the moment we launched! As an entirely bootstrapped company, we took over 1,500 travellers on tours in our first year of operations, and we immediately got to work on ensuring every single person who travelled with us had a fantastic experience. We’re so proud to be building a community-first business, anchored by our mission to drive purposeful progress.

We may be a small business, but we want to make sure we’re getting things right when it comes to sustainability. To state the obvious: travel is not sustainable. But we are doing everything we can to make the right decisions for the planet across our operations, and be completely transparent about the process. You’ll see carbon tags on all of our products, for example, designed to educate our community on both their emissions and the intentional structure of our tours to be as low-carbon as possible.
